The Boys' Store Gift Certificate

I won a $25 gift certificate to The Boys' Store from babybumbleb.com. Unfortunately, I have a girl, and while I thought there were a few gender neutral items, like these karate pants, I figured the best thing to do with my win was to gift it!

I have a friend who is a missionary in a foreign country who is having a baby boy. Unfortunately, she said it's pretty difficult to find cute baby clothes where she's located, so gift certificate to an online store is a great baby shower gift for her! It's cheap for me to get it to her (just a stamp, instead of shipping a box), and she gets to pick out just what she wants: win-win.

My prize for the photo contest was my pick of diaper.

I chose a Happy Heinys One Size pocket in Mocha brown.

I'm really happy with this diaper. The microfleece on the inside is so soft, much softer than the inner lining of my other pocket diaper (the one I won the photo contest with!). It is also more absorbant. I love the absorbancy of this diaper! I took Baby to a playdate without her diaper bag and we stayed longer than I expected. This diaper held multiple pees without even a hint of leakage. It's also very trim, it has the profile of a disposable diaper and fits under clothes really well. The Aplix is soft, which I like, but. Here's my one fault with this diaper: I'm not a fan of the Aplix design and the laundry tabs basically don't work. I always pull this diaper out of the laundry stuck to another pocket diaper, no matter how well I secure the Aplix before washing. And the design- while it makes sense, it's just not pretty. The "wings" to close the diaper are designed to overlap. This means that one of the wings has a patch of Aplix (the loop side of the hook and loop closure) on the back. So if your baby is big enough to not need the overlap, you've got a lopsided looking diaper. It's kind of a nit-picky thing, but I just don't like the aesthetics of it. Other than that, I love this diaper. I keep it in my diaper bag because I know I can count on it to contain anything when we're out and about. I also know it will fit under any outfit Baby is wearing at the time. Thank you Growing Green Bums!

Pooters Gift Certificate

I won a $10 gift certificate to Pooters in a giveaway from babybumbleb.com. Unfortunately, I never used it before it expired. Oh well, totally my fault. But it was fun to win something! I think if I had used it, I would have gotten some diaper liners or maybe some cloth wipes.
